This may be a question that's obviously and blatantly answered somewhere (perhaps in the episode itself), but whatever happened to the body-switching machine from Holiday after everyone got put back where they belonged? Do we know?

It would've been moved to Area 51 for further testing. I don't have a transcript handy for evidence, but it's SOP that alien tech was moved to Nevada for long-term study. The SGC had its experiments, but generally only what was relevant to gate travel at the time. They could however order the Machello devices shipped back to the SGC if there was need of them, if that's what you need for your story.

if you watch "legacy" you should see that device on the screen when Sam is looking for potential "land mines" that created the little critters that got into Daniel. Its about 3/4ths of the way through the episode. I believe they show that device and the page turning devices on the screen. In that episode, Sam indicates that they took an inventory of everything and it is stored at Area 51.

found 31.04 into the episode, Legacy:

(to Daniel)
You think that Ma'chello made this thing, right?
We crated off everything in Ma'chello's laboratory to Area 51 and it's all in our database. Let's see if we can find something that looks familiar.
[She calls up the images of Ma'chello's inventions as the others gather around.]
