I've never figured this out by watching the episode Window of Opportunity. When the guy starts the looping by shooting at Sam and Daniel, is Daniel killed by the weapon or not? It's been quite awhile since I've watched the ep, but I've seen the clip in a few vids and I still can't figure out if Daniel's killed or not.
Any ideas? Does Jack ever say anything that lets us know?

Oh, and it was only Daniel that was shot at, IIRC. The others were off at a short distance. Sam is the one who runs to check on him when they spot him, though.

It also makes me question-if Malachai's home planet was advanced enough to send out archaeologists to other planets and study ancient technology and have energy weapons and cooler electronic pictures than we do, why did the SGC never try to ally themselves with them?

MALAKI looks up suddenly.
DANIEL (cont’d) : It never did.
MALAKI : It never did? You’re living proof.
btw, I have seen Malakai spelled as I have spelled it [Malakai] more commonly than as the transcript has put it [Malaki], so that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
